Why install dates slip, and how we stop it

Wanda · October 15, 2026

On most projects the selections are finished long before anyone places an order. The gap is not design. It is execution: someone has to turn a finalized schedule into purchase orders, hold every vendor to a date, and catch the slips before they reach the job site.

Where the days go

  • A 14-week backorder discovered at trim-out is a missed install, not a line item.
  • Order status lives in inboxes and voicemails, never in one place the team can see.
  • Substitutions happen without the designer's sign-off, and get caught on delivery day.

How we run it instead

We plan ordering backwards from each install date. Long-lead items go out first. Every order is tracked against the construction schedule, and when a ship date moves we surface exactly which install it threatens, weeks ahead.

The quiet work on our desk is what keeps the loud problems off your job site.
